Wang Jiao'e is a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Geographical Sciences and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of the Research Unit of Economic Geography and Regional Development, and deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Regional Sustainable Development Analysis and Simulation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She has presided over the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC)'s Jieqing and Yucheng projects, the National Social Science Foundation of China's major projects, etc. She has been awarded the second prize of the Beijing Natural Science Award, the third prize of National Intellectual Property Rights, the Young Scholar Award of China Urban 100 Forum, the National Young Geography Science and Technology Award, the Outstanding Member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Outstanding Talent of "Qimingxing" of Beijing Branch of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Outstanding Talent of Humanities and Economic Geography of Wu Chuanjun. She is also the deputy editor-in-chief of the Journal of Transport Geography, deputy director of the Economic Geography Committee of the Chinese Geographical Society, deputy director of the Regional Studies Association China Division, executive director of the National Society of Economic Geography, director of the Chinese Regional Science Association, director of the Chinese Society for Regional Development Strategy. She is also on the editorial board of Transport Reviews, Progress in Economic Geography, Geographical Sciences, Economic Geography, Tropical Geography, World Geographical Studies, and other journals. She is mainly engaged in research on transportation geography, economic geography, regional sustainable development, big data and residents' travel patterns, and intellectual property and industrial innovation.
